Round 7 of the AusCycling Victorian BMX State Series took us to the wide-open layout of Bacchus Marsh on Sunday, May 4—and what a day it was! With beautiful autumn sunshine and near-perfect conditions, the Bacchus Marsh BMX Club put on a stellar event, highlighted by a perfectly prepped track that was as smooth and fast as we’ve seen in years.
The club's tireless work in the lead-up to the event certainly paid off, and Northern BMX riders rose to the challenge on what is one of the longest and most technical tracks in the state. Featuring sweeping dirt berms and deep rhythm sections, the layout kept riders on their toes—especially those tackling it for the first time.
One of the standout moments for our club was seeing Leon take to the gate for his very first State Series round. With nerves of steel and the support of his Northern teammates behind him, Leon showed fantastic spirit and determination throughout the day. Welcome to the big stage, Leon—we're excited to see your BMX journey unfold!
Unfortunately, the day wasn’t without its setbacks, as a few of our riders suffered heavy crashes. Fletcher Davey, Max Miles, and Khloe Kovatsis all took tumbles on the track and needed support from the track medics. We’re wishing each of them a speedy and smooth recovery—your Northern BMX family is behind you all the way. 💛🖤💗
Despite the bumps, bruises, and tricky corners, our riders continued to display outstanding sportsmanship and courage on track. Bacchus Marsh is known for testing even the most seasoned riders, and our club showed once again that we’re up for the challenge.

With just one more rounds left in the series, the energy and enthusiasm from our riders continue to build. We’re proud of everyone who gave it their all and can’t wait to see what’s next.
Go Northern! 🐝🔥
