On Sunday, April 6, 2025, the Northern BMX Club riders showcased resilience and determination at Round 6 of the AusCycling Victorian BMX State Series, hosted by the Ballarat Sebastopol Rush BMX Club. Despite facing significant delays due to strong winds and medical incidents, our riders remained focused and committed throughout the event. I was struck by the patience, persistence, and sportsmanship of our Hornets riders, having a perfect behind-the-scenes vantage point in staging. As club president, I love celebrating results and race outcomes, but what keeps strengthening my love of the sport and our community is the camaraderie and character I get to see our members demonstrate off the track!
The challenging weather conditions necessitated a condensed race format, moving directly to main finals. This adjustment tested our athletes' adaptability and mental toughness, and they rose to the occasion admirably.
We extend our gratitude to the Ballarat Sebastopol Rush BMX Club for their efforts in managing the event under such trying circumstances. Their dedication ensured the safety and well-being of all participants, and we look forward to returning for future competitions.

As we reflect on the challenges and triumphs of this round, we remain proud of our riders' perseverance and sportsmanship. With no time to waste, the Hornets set our sights on Round 7 at Bacchus Marsh on May 4, and showed up ready to build upon our experiences and continue striving for excellence.
Go Northern! 🐝💥
